Oat Cheese
Plant-based cheese, made differently.
Most vegan cheese still tastes like a compromise. It doesn’t melt properly, it’s thin on protein, and the ingredients list reads like a chemistry set. We think that’s a design failure, not an inevitability. Oat Cheese starts from a different question: what if plant-based cheese was built to work, not just to exist as an alternative?
Why oats
Oats bring something most plant milks and nut bases can’t: a naturally creamy texture, a mild flavour that takes seasoning well, and a nutritional profile that doesn’t need propping up. Combined with fermentation, oats give us a base that behaves more like dairy cheese than most of what’s currently on the shelf, without relying on the usual thickeners and gums to fake it.
We’re developing a range of oat-based cheeses with a particular focus on high protein, familiar textures, and ingredients that actually make sense when you read them aloud.
Built to be eaten, not just tolerated
Whether melted into a toastie, folded into a sandwich, grated over dinner, or eaten straight from the fridge at eleven at night, the aim is simple. Plant-based cheese that works like food should. Not a novelty. Not a substitute you settle for. Just cheese, made from oats.
Something better is fermenting
Oat Cheese is currently in development. We’re testing recipes, refining textures, and making sure this earns its place in the fridge before it earns a place on a shelf.
